Entrix, a company specializing in the optimization of flexible assets in Europe, has appointed Martim Vaz Pinto as its new sales director for Iberia, with the aim of leading its growth strategy in Spain and Portugal and accelerating the adoption of energy storage solutions.

Martim Pinto brings more than 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a career focused on business development, sales, and growth strategy. He has worked in international markets and participated in projects across the full value chain, from early-stage development to asset management. Prior to joining Entrix, he held key roles at leading industry companies, including the Swedish firm OX2 and Ventient Energy, contributing to the development and expansion of wind, solar, and energy storage projects.

In his new role, he will be responsible for leading Entrix’s commercial strategy in Iberia, driving business development and strengthening relationships with clients and other market players.

“Having spent many years in the renewable energy sector working with established technologies such as wind and solar PV across different markets, I am convinced that energy storage is the missing piece of today’s energy transition. The challenge is no longer just about building more renewable capacity, but about finding ways to make renewable generation more efficient, economically viable, and sustainable, while also helping create a more flexible and resilient power system. That is why I wanted to be part of this disruptive technology, and Entrix is without a doubt the ideal place to do it.”

Entrix strengthens its commitment to battery storage in Spain

Martim Pinto joins Entrix to solidify the company’s presence in Spain, expand its portfolio of managed batteries, and drive new revenue models based on flexibility and energy trading. Entrix has a strong track record in Europe, with more than 3 GW contracted through around 80 agreements. A track record the company now aims to build out further in Spain.

The appointment comes at a time of strong momentum for energy storage in Spain, with more than 1 GW ready for construction and nearly 9 GW under development. Despite challenges such as grid access and project bankability, batteries are emerging as a key solution to integrate more renewable energy, balance supply and demand, and enhance grid stability.
